Contemporary Paintings

Sounds trendy, but I don't know how else to categorize this stuff.

Red Stuff
This started off life as a picture of something that looked like the Washington monument being split in two by a white comet all floating over a rainbow of colors. It sat around for years until one day, in a fit of rage, I smeared gobs of red and yellow paint all over it. My dad likes it. I think he calls it the mustard burger. Painted with acrylics.

Chaos Meets Order
I was inspired by the castles in Germany while I was stationed there during my time in the army. I had a mild obsession with organized chaos. Where is the line drawn between chaos and order? Painted with acrylic.

Contrapment
I don't know what the title means, or what this painting means. I toyed with it for years since I started it in the army. It's another expression of chaos mixing with order. It looks like a big jumble, but there was a consistent set of rules I was attempting to follow while painting it. An oil painting.

Piggy Thingy
It's a floating animal head with sunglasses, or a hovercraft in a world obsessed with animal forms. I was feeling half sci-fi half surreal when I was making this. It's an Oily painting.

Long Lost Love
It's about unrequited love. I wanted it to be kind of fuzzy and out of focus.
